Giving Back to the Travel Community

by Scott on December 22, 2009

On this Travel Tuesday  let’s think about the people we normally follow.  We all have our list of sites we return to.  You may not visit their site every day but you return often.  Some people you may like their stories and the way they write.  Some you may identify with them or their dreams.   Some give better advice then others.  Some you may follow just because they seem like they would be cool to travel with.  We all are cheering for them.  We live vicariously through them all until we can begin our own adventure.

Which is why during the holidays we should include them if possible.  I’ve put together a list of sites I normally follow that have Paypal donate buttons.  The list is mainly just people that are actively traveling.  If I could support everyone myself I would, but I need your help.  If you can buy them a coffee or beer in thanks for what they are doing and to encourage them to keep up the good work, I’m sure they would appreciate it.

The World Effect – Beau and Megan’s site has stunning photography.  They don’t have a Paypal button but a donate to UNICEF.  Very cool.

Almost Fearless – Christine is a great writer.  Everyone probably already visits her site or reads her articles in print by the looks of her ‘as seen in’ list.

Uncornered Market – Audrey and Scott have one of the best all around travel sites.  The photography is spectacular and the writing is great.

The Professional Hobo – if you have a large screen the site is a little discombobulated, but don’t let that deter you.  Nora is one of the top Travel bloggers.

Thrilling Heroics (& Business Backpacker)  Cody and Brooke have both Lifestyle Design and Travel advice.  Both are very slick looking sites.

If you have a website that you think should be on this list either send me a tweet or simply reply to this.  If there are more I’ll add a part two to this list.
